Abstract:

A film-zombie asking: what’s next?

This essay tries to think about what is zombie-like in the political-erotic-horror-avantgarde film fabric of Otto; or, Up With Dead People by filmmaker Bruce LaBruce, apart from its dealing with zombies. In what way could we call a specific cinematic practice – zombie-like? The film in question is taken as an opportunity to rearticulate the zombie figure as political, but at the same time one that eschews traditional univocal allegorical readings in order to question the (im)possibility of articulating a post-zombie condition.
