The essay associatively moves between different possible aspects of the interpretation of Space Dogs (2019). It compares the behaviour of dogs with a child’s gaze, which opens the questions of alienation in the world. The alienation unfolds in different partly comparable and partly incommensurable dimensions: the alienation of the film procedure in filming the life of stray dogs, the alienation of dogs in the streets of the metropolis and in the framework of the space programme and the alienation of children in the world of adults. The possibility of alienation opened by the film for the viewers can also be welcome and help in the deepening of evident ethical observations.
