A Conversation with Matjaž Ivanišin
In the first part of the film I just watched the plays, observing them, hidden behind the camera. At one point I found myself with a dilemma. I could have continued in a similar fashion and assemble a collage of plays that fascinate me. I felt a need to point the camera I recently observed with in the other direction and so start to explore the role of the one who observes, the director, and the medium through which I express myself – film. I established my own game, with my rules, and cruise through the second part on a more personal tone. But for that I needed some ironic distance between myself and the content.
