In the article, I question film criticism and its rules, starting with the problem of using the narrator’s voice in contemporary films and the relationship between film and literature. The main thread of the article is resistance. In doing so, I rely on Joachim Trier’s Reprise (2006) and Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World (Nu astepta prea mult de la sfârsitul lumii, 2023) by Radu Jude.
