The article examines Bill Morrison’s work, focusing on the narratology constructed by using found and archival footage. The creative process of using found and archival footage is first presented and defined in the broader context of this creative tradition. Based on his Decasia (2001), Morrison’s creative process is presented and the film interpreted by highlighting the materiality that enables the construction of an abstract narrative structure through the use of decaying images.
