The contribution focuses on the Slovenian political documentary In the Land of Bears, which deals with the pressing problem of the “invisible workers of the world”. The film examines this acute situation through the optics of its “protagonist” Armin Salihović, who managed to wrest himself from the grip of the exploitative vicious circle and became an activist in the framework of the biounionistic initiative IWW (Invisible Workers of the World); this association does not fight only for righting the wrongs suffered by seasonal workers in Slovenia, but for the rights of all workers of the world. In the alternation of individual and collective experiences, the film shows us the unfathomable dimensions of the Slovenian exploitative drive, but at the same time lets us witness the organisation of workers determined to fight back with any means at their disposal.
