As its starting point, the article looks at Netflix’s series GLOW (2017–, 2 seasons), which takes place in the middle of the 1980s and shows a group of female wrestlers trying to make their own TV show. The author of the article tries to show that the series combines nostalgia with criticism in order to closely look at the past, but even more so the contemporary debates on gender inequality and the quantity and quality of female representation in television and film.
