A Map and a Line

After Newsreel 80 – Metka, Meki (Filmski obzornik 80 – Metka, Meki, 2021), which was reviewed in KINO! 45, Nika Autor’s newsreel-making continues with three new pieces: Newsreel 2021 – Here I Have Picture (Obzornik 2021 – Tukaj imam sliko, 2022), Newsreel 4517 – Across the Water to Freedom (Obzornik 4517 – Preko vode do slobode, 2022) and Newsreel 670 – Red Forests (Obzornik 670 – Rdeči gozdovi, 2022). The text deals with the triad of documentary approaches and the off-screen space that Autor uses to show, accompany and poetise the experience of refugees.
