André Bazin, Film Realism and Essentialism in Film Theory
Based on analytical treatment of concepts of film essentialism and realism, text underlines the central importance of André Bazin amongst the essentialist line of film theory. It is argued that Bazin’s central role is grounded principally on his introduction of parallel theories such as critical theory and later structuralism into understanding of cinema.
