A lyrical report from the 18th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Thessaloniki and the 5th American Documentary Film Festival — AmDocs in Palm Springs. A travel of a film critic that could go under the slogan “Prejudices linger, ideas travel.” The reflection focuses on the films which investigate the traumas of the past through the specifics of landscape and geography, as for example Mark Cousins’s I Am Belfast (2015), Ognjen Glavonić’s Depth Two (Dubina dva, 2016) or Gürcan Keltek’s Colony (Koloni, 2015).
