Queen Kong (2016) by Monica Stambrini and The Beast (La Bête, 1975) by Walerian Borowczyk combine elements of horror and the fantastic with eroticism. They both interpret sexuality through the prism of the monstrous. The link between sexuality and the monstrous used to be employed in the function of male dominance over women, while the role of monstrous femininity embodied sexual difference. In the two films, they can also be read in the sense of the liberation of female sexuality.
