From Soldiers to Slaughterers: On Chris the Swiss

In her partly animated documentary film essay, Anja Kofmel investigates the death of her cousin Chris in Croatia at the beginning of 1992. The 27-year-old journalist Christian Würtenberg was found dead wearing a uniform of a mercenary unit fighting on the Croatian side. The film uses a variety of approaches to show the last months of his life: interviews, newsreel footage, parts of his diary and animation.
