Like some of the director’s previous films, A Brief Excursion (Kratki izlet, 2017) by Igor Bezinović is defined by being set in Istria. In a way, the film is a synthesis of his previous works – both in terms of observational cinema in the first part and in terms of the socio-cultural reality of Istria reflected upon in the film, even if less ironically and more metaphysically than before.
