Marija’s Own is a documentary directed by Željka Suková in 2011. It narrates a story of Marija whose gravestone is left unfinished six years after her funeral. In order to do justice to the memories of their grandmother, her granddaughters, Željka, Nina and Danira organise a dinner party with Marija’s close neighbours in order to design an authentic gravestone. With support from the Czech electro-synth band Midi Lidi, this gathering turns into a spiral of hedonistic pleasures in which the characters reveal their intimate sides.
