The contribution examines the genres of body horror and ecohorror and their intertwinement, which is discussed in the context of Annihilation (2018). At the same time, the author reflects on the meaning and necessity of change. The contribution attempts to show an effective merger and mutual enrichment of the two genres and at the same time examines the interconnection of humans and nature.
