The author explores time and space in animated films on the basis of Meta Hočevar’s reflection on the relationship between a person, memory and space in the context of set design. She does so by intertwining four breakthrough animated films that were shown at last year’s Animateka festival, including three shorts – Nora Štrbová’s Spaces (Mezery, 2020), Adrien Mérigeau’s Genius Loci (2020) and Barbara Rupik’s The Little Soul (Duszyczka, 2019) – and Mariusz Wilczyńsky’s first feature titled Kill it and Leave This Town (Zabij to i wyjedź z tego miasta, 2020).
