The article deals with the “gaming sensibility” that can be felt in certain films. The main point of the article is to locate this sensibility in the feeling of an immersion into the diegetic world of film. Comparing video games and films, we posit the thesis that immersion is the result of the camera-gaze, which is the point of the viewer’s identification, becoming embodied and thus ceasing to be a distanced and amorphic entity.
