Ema Kugler’s Organic Film: Between Image and Text
The text is a brief consideration of Ema Kugler’s original art as an organic film and the tension between textuality and image in it. We conclude that her films achieve their greatest effect where they surrender to the poetic logic of the image to the greatest extent and minimize discursiveness. The organic nature of film means the least possible industrialization of production, which enables the most direct connection between the final product and personal poetic imagination.
